I want to be sure you know about a great party in Hollywood on Friday, December 16; but first, some serious business. Los Angeles City Councilmember Jose Huizar has proposed an outright ban on medical cannabis patients’ cooperatives and collectives in the city. This is in addition to an existing motion to snuff out patients’ associations made by Councilmembers Bernard Parks and Jan Perry in October.
Take a minute right now to email the Los Angeles City Council - http://salsa.democracyinaction.org/o/182/p/dia/action/public/?action_KEY=8825
and tell them not to ban safe access in Los Angeles. Americans for Safe Access’ (ASA) Online Action Center makes it easy to email every City Councilmember right now. You can use our sample message or write one of your own. Do it today and then forward this message to your friends and loved ones. ASA members and friends have already sent 7,000 individual emails to the City Council – so help us build an overwhelming grassroots opposition to the ban by sending your emails today!
Now on to the fun stuff… Make plans to join us at an upscale, roof-top venue in Hollywood for Hollyweed Holidaze
, our annual holiday fundraiser on Friday, December 16. This is going to be our best holiday fundraiser ever! We will have great live music, delicious food and drinks, and more. Everyone twenty-one years old and older is welcome to attend. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. You can buy tickets at Greater Los Angeles Collective Alliance (GLACA)
cooperatives and collectives right now! The event is sponsored by Los Angeles Patients and Caregivers Group
and 420 Times
. All proceeds benefit ASA and GLACA.
Please note that our December LA-ASA chapter meeting for December is canceled, so there will be no meeting on Saturday, December 17. But I look forward to seeing you all in Hollywood on December 16!
