Post A Holiday Gift from ASA
on: December 21, 2011, 21:28

On behalf of everyone here at Americans for Safe Access (ASA), I want to wish you a happy holiday season and a great New Year! We have faced a lot of challenges in 2011, but you have helped us accomplish

some great things. I hope you are as proud as I am of the work we have done together.

There are still some big hurdles to jump before we succeed in providing safe access to medical cannabis for everyone who needs it. I need your help to be sure we are starting the New Year off with the resources we need to keep working. Take a minute right now to give a special holiday gift

of $35, $50, $100, or whatever you can afford.

We have a great gift to give to you this year, too! ASA is launching a new app for your iPhone and iPad (the Droid version will be here In April) to make it even easier to get involved and stay up-to-date on medical cannabis. You can use the ASA Advocacy App, donated by iWeed.org, to participate in action alerts, upload your testimonial to our web site, shop at the ASA Store, and more. Be a part of this easy and exciting new way to protect safe access. Check out this video...

about the new ASA App, and download it to your iPhone or iPad today. Just search "Americans for Safe Access" in the App Store.

I know it seems like we are under attack right now. The Department of Justice is threatening patients and providers, the Drug Enforcement Administration is escalating raids, and federal agencies are turning up the heat. But this year we have also seen new allies come to the table to join our fight: UFCW, Governors calling for the rescheduling of medical cannabis, the National Cancer Institute recognizing cannabis as a treatment for symptoms related to cancer regimens, the California Medical Association calling for the rescheduling of medical cannabis, to name a few. States and cities across the US are discussing medical cannabis policy every day.

So now is not the time to give up! This is the time to redouble our efforts and push back harder than ever. With your support

, ASA can make it happen!

Just consider what we accomplished

in 2011. ASA filed two game-changing federal lawsuits, and we are also fighting to protect safe access in state court. We helped introduce new legislation in Congress and three states, and launched our new “Stop the Attack Campaign

” in response to federal pressure. ASA created and online training program and ramped up its support services to be sure our grassroots is ready to support local, state, and federal campaigns. We also provided free legal support to more than 12,000 patients and providers – something no one else is doing! And there is much more. Read more

about what you have helped ASA do this year.

Our successes are impressive, but there are some big challenges to come. The federal government is still interfering in state access programs. Federal lawsuits and legislation hang in the balance right now. We have a lot more work to do in court, in lawmakers’ offices, in our neighborhoods, and in the streets. Now is the time for the ASA campaign to blow up and make a difference. We need your support to make that happen.

Make a special holiday contribution

of $35, $50, $100, or whatever you can afford. Perhaps you’re able to do more. Can you give $150, $250, $500 or more? Or you can make an affordable monthly donation in any amount. Remember that no one will do this work if ASA does not, and no one will support it if you do not. Make a commitment to be a part of the campaign today.

With your support, I know we can do even more for medical cannabis in 2012. Thank you for being a part of ASA and helping us this holiday season!
