Any day now, with a final signature from Gov. Dan Malloy (D), Connecticut will become the 17th state to legalize medical marijuana.
We — as a movement — have come a long way since November 1996, when 56% of California voters passed the first effective medical marijuana law in the nation.
We can now see the day when medical marijuana will be legal in a majority of states — specifically, 28 states by the end of 2014.
Your support has been instrumental in getting us to this point. Are you ready to help some more?
MPP is executing an aggressive plan to reach 28 medical marijuana states by the end of 2014 — check out this video to see how we’ll get there - http://youtu.be/nweLQ3aLXLY - but we need your support in order to reach this goal.
Our “28 by 2014” strategy includes a signature drive in Arkansas that’s already under way, as well as a second signature drive in North Dakota that will begin in less than a week. More than 1,000,000 voters in these two states will be voting on these ballot initiatives this November 6.
We’re also working with patients in New Hampshire to secure enough votes in the legislature to override Gov. John Lynch’s (D) imminent veto of our medical marijuana bill; we’re assisting with the passage of a ballot initiative in Massachusetts; and we’re taking the lead with lobbying the Illinois Legislature.
Everything is on track, but we have a long way to go, and we can’t do it without your help. Please support our “28 by 2014” plan by starting a monthly credit card pledge today.
With the passage of each new state law, many thousands of seriously ill patients will be protected from arrest. And, of course, each time we get one step closer to convincing Congress to change federal law — which is the ultimate goal.
Will you start a $10/month credit card pledge to help achieve the goal of 28 medical marijuana states by the end of 2014? - https://secure2.convio.net/mpp/site/Donation2?2562.donation=form1&df_id=2562
