Hey Rob and all,

The owner of Image Collections - in Streetsville, Ontario, Canada - has asked me to put together a comic book based around the world of professional wrestling. I think it'd be pretty cool to have Sabu and RVD himself in an issue [or possibly as recurring characters..] - I'm thinking that it'd be fair for various independent organizations, and cool workers to be featured in different issues. It's a great way for people who don't necessarily watch wrestling to learn a bit more about it, and learn to appreciate the great sport that it is.

I'm a post-secondary English literature, philosophy and film studies student. I have also completed approximately two and a half of professional wrestling training [I posted a match that I had years back in a thread in the general section. There's the link to it:

Image Collections has some very talented artists [they're all pretty cool], I have some experience writing and wrestling [and am pretty decently well read]. I know how much RVD loves comics and wrestling, so it was pretty easy to decide whether or not I should post this evolving idea here in the first place.

If anyone has any input, ideas, or even support, it would be greatly appreciated. I like to have projects to keep me busy, and as I'm getting a little bit older, I'm starting to take them a little bit more seriously [I guess that's the idea of legacy, or something..].

Even if Rob [Van Dam] cannot be involved [in whatever way Rob wants to be involved, if he does- due to contract stipulations with Impact Wrestling, it may be difficult? - I would still like to read his input, and maybe he can get Sabu on board: an issue featured on Sabu would be a great way to pay respect to the hardcore legend, and it would definitely work well with the target audience, ie, comic book fans.

Hi Mark! Thank you for sharing your aspirations with us. You sound like you are very well written and educated, and are on the right track with the right contacts to making your dream come true. I too am a writer, and have been published here in the United States, but it has been a long time ago. My writing was mostly co-writing I did on music (heavy metal), and poetry.

Today I do some volunteer work by speaking in front of groups of people about the power of addiction, alcoholism, my battle with it, and how I overcame it to have the life I have now. I speak mostly at AA meetings, battered women's shelters, and homeless shelters, but I do work with individuals too when they ask for my help. It's my way of paying God back for everything he has done for me and continues to do for me every single day of my life. I'd really like to get licensed so I could talk in prisons and jails, but I haven't looked into it. Maybe I'll even write a book someday. (Who knows?)

I wish you the absolute very best with your work. And I'll be happy to have one of those non-alcoholic beverages with ya!

Thank you Liyoki_Mur-a! RVD seems like a pretty awesome dude, and being a awesome dude means that you're bound to be busy. He also seems to already have a lot of comic book related stuff on the go as is. Regardless, it'd be pretty damn cool to have RVD and Sabu included!

Cool stuff Halo child! Sounds like a lot of work, spiritual energy and thought goes into your work. Volunteering can be super rewarding, and fulfilling - from my perspective. I definitely think that there is some kind of energy making things flow. Also, thank you very much for checking out my match! I had that old thing stored within a vhs, sitting in the basement! It is a pleasure to share it with people.
