Just have to say that I respectfully diagree. Choosing to label people as evil rarely resolves anything. Responding to anger with anger or hate with hate... That isn't going to make things better.

Sharker - It's your life and your decision. Everyone has challenges and how we deal with them is a reflection of who we are. I'm sorry to hear that your neighbor is so accustomed to being a stubborn grouch that she doesn't even respond to kindness, reason or the law. I'm also sorry to hear that none of your other neighbors - are they all new? - seem willing or able to remember your family as decent people. I'm glad that at least your landlord knows better and that the police have been willing to work with you.

WOW, Sharker, it sounds like this situation is really bordering on getting out of control with a quickness, man. I wish I had some wonderful, magical words to say to you right now, but I don't. It's really a shame the cops won't step in and draw some boundaries between the two of you. But if they have made it clear that they are not going to get involved, there is really nothing you can do about it. The cops are the cops. I mean, I don't mess with them. I call them when I need them, and when they come around once a year asking for money, I give it to them, lol!

But if I may, and you will allow me, may I PLEASE ask you to do one thing for me? It would just be you, Sharker, as my friend, just doing me a favor, just to put my mind at ease a little bit because I am worried about you and I care about you. Please?

All I'm asking you to do is this. If you and your family have just made up your minds that you are going to stay and see this thru, and the cops won't help, and moving is not an option, all I can ask is that you guys please just don't do anything while you are angry. Is there any way that y'all could like make up your minds that you are going to ignore the whole situation for a week or so and not say anything back to these people just til then? When they go to yelling at you and shit, just walk in your house, lock the door, pull the blinds, and turn on the TV or something? Just long enough to give y'all time to COOL DOWN, have a family meeting, and sit down with each other and talk about what's going on and how y'all really want to handle this. But I want you to wait to have the family meeting until when you are not so heated and you've had a little time to let things calm down. Sometimes when people get really upset and their adrenalyn starts flowing and they start seeing all red and shit, they can't think straight and some really bad shit is gonna come out of them, ya know what I'm saying? I would really hate for the two of you to go to arguing, cussing, and flinging insults at each other while you're mad, and then something really bad go down right there in the street before the cops can get there, or the cops don't show up at all. You don't want somebody to get so mad that they end up doing something they can't take back, ya know? It would be really bad for somebody to end up in jail over this when they don't need to. So all I'm asking is that you take some time, cool down, and y'all decide as a family, AS A COOL, CALM, LEVEL HEADED family, how you are going to handle this.

I've been thinking a lot about you, Sharker, and this situation, and I've seen things like this escalate really fast and turn into something it never should have been so damn fast. It just scares me when people go to arguing while they are mad at each other. I guess that's all I wanted to say to ya, man. Please be careful whatever you decide to do, and think it thru first. K?
