Post Election Poll

Since this new forum doesn't come with the ability to create polls, I'm experimenting with an outside survey service. Lets see if I can figure out how to embed this...

While I'm fighting with this, here's the direct link to the survey. http://www.kwiksurveys.com?s=OHELHM_c2c82e19

Hrm. Nope. This forum really doesn't want me to embed the survey. Sorry. I'll just post another version of the poll here... Hope that this provokes some conversation.

Did you vote in any of the elections held in America on November 8th?
-Yes
-No

If you are an adult resident of the United States and did not vote then please may we know why. I did not vote because:

-Didn't know there was a local election taking place.
-I am unable or unwilling to register to vote.
-I requested an absentee ballot but it never arrived.
-I was not able to get to a polling place before it closed.
-I'm not sure where my polling place is.
-There is not accomidation for persons with language, hearing, vision or other such issues at my polling place.
-I only vote in national elections, not local ones.
-The system is broken/All elections are rigged/ My vote doesn't count.
-Felt that there was not a candidate worth voting for.
-I needed more information/Felt unable to make a responsible, informed decision.
-Just don't care/Choose to ignore politics.
-Why bother? The world is ending next year anyway.

This subject came up in some local discussion groups that I listen to and I was honestly surprised by how many people didn't vote. Quite a lot of people seem to feel that politics has been corrupted to the point where their vote truly doesn't matter. They are more likely to cast a vote for their favorite American Idol than for their local mayor because they have more confidence in the television contests actually counting their votes.

Also a significant portion of the people who spoke either just plain didn't know that a local election was taking place or didn't know where their polling place was.
